On 16 May 2026, Bankim Chandra, founder and CEO of Dotsquares, was recognised with the Best CEO Award in the AI, Cybersecurity, IT & Tech category at the Best CEO Awards Europe, held at the Mandarin Oriental Ritz in Madrid.
The Best CEO Awards assembled an international team of top executives who were carefully screened and selected for their outstanding leadership among industries worldwide. The 2026 event was organised around the theme "The Old Money in the New World", which symbolised a merging of traditional business principles with the necessities of transforming the global economy. Business leaders from different continents participated in the event, and each one was put forward as a candidate considering his/her most recent leadership successes and good works in their field of business.
Bankim founded Dotsquares in 2002, after a career that started as a developer and moved through systems analysis and project management at some of the UK and USA's leading financial institutions, including Santander, RBS, and American Express. His original vision was direct: make experienced development capability accessible to small and medium-sized businesses that were being left behind as the internet changed how commerce worked.
Twenty-four years later, that vision has scaled considerably. Dotsquares today employs over 1,400 people across four continents, the UK, USA, Australia, and India, and works with clients ranging from growing businesses to government departments and global enterprises. The company holds Salesforce Summit Partner status for the fourth consecutive year, has been recognised by the European Technology Awards, and Bankim himself has been featured as a member of the Forbes Technology Council.
The Best CEO Award in Madrid is recognition of what that journey actually represents, not just the size of the business Dotsquares has become, but how it got there. A culture of consistency, a focus on relationships over transactions, and a leadership style that has kept the company growing steadily through markets that have changed significantly since 2002.
Awards like this are never just about the person who receives them. The Dotsquares team, developers, consultants, project managers, and support staff across four countries, is the reason there is anything to recognise in the first place.
Bankim has publicly spoken about how Dotsquares is making 2026 a year of partnership, collaboration and providing more value through strong relationships. You can see this focus in the way the company works on a day-to-day basis, on how it works with long-term clients and how it structures its internal teams. The Madrid recognition reflects a business that has remained true to its original purpose, even at a level far beyond its beginnings.
For a company that began as a developer-led idea to democratise access to good technology, being recognised on an international stage in Madrid, alongside business leaders from across multiple continents, is a milestone worth pausing on.
Congratulations to Bankim Chandra and to the entire Dotsquares team.
